You can easily re-execute the configuration wizard by changing the <FIRST_LAUNCH> variable to “true” at the top of the sip-communicator.xml file. This will trigger the configuration wizard when you next start the sip-communicator program.

However, if you intend to switch to a different set of JMF jars, you must force the wizard to re-initialize the JMF configuration. You should find out where “jmf.properties” is stored when running Eclipse and delete the old file…

  • Microsoft Windows system stores it in… c:\Documents and Settings\yourusername\.jmf\ (note the dot in front of jmf)
  • Linux system stores it in /home/yourusername/.jmf/ (see the dot again?)

This will trigger the SIP Communicator configuration wizard to run the JMF initialization process.
